The 2012 spring season for Adult and Youth Football will begin this March. Like last year we are going to limit the number of Northern Californian FOA officials to roughly 100. So please if you plan to return for the 2012 season or not please let me know ASAP.
Those of you who are returning please send your membership fee in as soon as possible. As an accommodation we have added the capability of accepting credit card payments for membership. Just go to our website home page and you’ll find the Credit Card Payment button.
As of today, we have most of the games loaded into arbiter. We expect to begin making assignments for games within the next ten calendar days. Those who have paid their fees will be given priority in assignments.
This season we are planning on interfacing NorCal officials with officials from Southern California, Oregon and Nevada. During the regular season we will have a few opportunities to interface with other area crews, but in the post season we will have more opportunities in Reno, Portland and Las Vegas as well as the Los Angeles areas. This year Minor League Football Ventures, a Holding Company that includes the FOA, is planning on hosting at least four Bowl games this season. Each bowl event will include two to three games, so there will be multiple crew work at each site. Let me know if you might be interested. (Travel to and back is at your own expense, but rooms and meals will be provided for game day.)
I believe that the 2012 season will be bigger and better for the FOA. The NorCal regular season begins March 26th.
Some of you have already sent in your membership fees (fees must be paid by March 1) and some of you have recommended a couple of new officials. Remember all officials are welcome upon invitation by a FOA member (limited to the first 100 officials). Preference will be given to returning officials.
We have placed an order for hats and wrist bands. Also we have ordered the patches that we will be using on our FOA Officiating shirts.
By the way our local Clinics are scheduled for March 3rd , 10th and 17th(details will be issued in a few days). Look forward to hearing from all of you.
